I did all of the setup work for this violin myself. If you need a reference for my work, I'll provide a link to an article in Guitar International Magazine in which my work was featured.
I lowered the string action at the nut and bridge (a lot) as they come from the factory pretty high. I reshaped the nut (not a very good job from the factory) I fitted it with a hand carved Teller German 3 star bridge.
Lastly I smoothed out and oiled the fingerboard. I believe it comes standard with D'addario strings so I didn't change them. Whatever they are sound pretty good. This is the perfect beginner, intermediate or upgrade instrument. It is all solid wood (spruce top, maple sides and back and ebony fittings) and has been set up ready to play.
It comes with two bows and a light foam based case. The only notable flaws it has are shown in the last picture. They do not affect the sound and are hidden by the tailpiece. If you have any questions I will respond as quickly as I can.
